Women’s March to Move #ForwardTogether Virtually
Regina – YWCA Regina is hosting the city’s third annual Women’s March virtually on Saturday, January 16, 2021.
With the safety of our city in mind, we are encouraging the community to create posters and march safely within their bubbles while connecting online.
The event invites community members of all ages, genders, races, abilities, and religions to march #ForwardTogether on Saturday January 16th 2021.
“We must continue the work we have started, advocating for women’s rights” says YWCA Regina CEO Melissa Coomber-Bendtsen. “How we march may look different, but our mission of empowering women’s rights remains the same.”
The event seeks to inspire, unite, and lead the charge for the advancement of women across Canada, while shining a light on gender inequality in Regina and the surrounding area.
“The Women’s March offers residents an opportunity to imagine what a community rooted in solidarity and in the pursuit of gender and social justice looks like,” continues Coomber-Bendtsen. “We recognize how important it is for us to stand up for each other and march not just for ourselves, but to empower one another.”
Women’s March Canada is an international movement to unify and empower everyone who stands for human rights, civil rights, and social justice for all. To learn more, visit https://womensmarch.com/ or follow the Women’s March YQR social accounts.
