YWCA Regina supports about 8,000 women, children, and youth in the community annually, ensuring that they are sheltered, safe, and fed. They operate Regina’s only emergency homeless shelter for women and their whole family, 1 of only 3 emergency Domestic Violence Shelters in Regina, and supportive housing for women in Kikinaw Residence. In 2021, 990 women and children stayed in YWCA Regina homes.
Sofia House provides comprehensive services to women and families fleeing domestic violence through second-stage transitional housing, counselling and other practical supports to help families safely re-transition back into the community after experiencing violence.
Our most heartfelt Christmas wish is for every shelter bed to be empty, and every woman and child to enjoy the holidays in a safe and warm home. But until this is possible, we hope you will join us in making the holiday season brighter for those spending the holidays in shelter.
