Big Sisters of Regina

About Big Sisters

YWCA Regina’s Big Sisters mentoring program provides girls and young women a role model to talk with and share their experiences. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests and is supported by our experienced caseworkers. The result is life-changing for both the mentor and the mentee.

When we have happy, healthy young people in our communities, everyone benefits. It takes as little as twice a month to help a child gain the confidence to achieve more. To learn more visit:

Each volunteer opportunity has different requirements. We are always seeking volunteers for Y’s Kids, Run Club, Upstander in School, Healix, Ourspace, Girlspace, Big Sisters of Regina, and Big Boost.

Encore Market

About Encore Market

Encore Market is YWCA Regina’s low-cost/no-barrier second-hand shop. In addition to providing any needed items to our clients and shelter residents, anyone can shop at Encore Market and the funds go back into funding our services for families.

Encore Support

For those looking for a rewarding opportunity to work with the public in a donation-driven retail setting, this is a great fit. Volunteers will be responsible for greeting donors and accepting donations, transfer of donations to the assigned sorting area, and general customer service, pricing, and tidying in the Encore Market. Volunteers will also assist with taking payments and bagging items for Encore Market purchases at the front desk.

Shifts are available from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday to Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm. We are also able to create a schedule to meet individual needs.
