As a general YWCA Regina volunteer, you can be placed into a variety of areas either short or long term. Whether helping with event support, donations, our Encore Market, or utilizing your other specialized skills, we can find a great fit for you. If either individually, or with a group of your friends, you would like to get involved in making life better for women in our community, we would love to have you!
The Big Sisters mentoring program provides girls and young women a role model to talk with and share their experiences. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests and is supported by our experienced caseworkers. The result is life-changing for both the mentor and the mentee.
Children Exposed to Violence (CEV) volunteers will facilitate children’s group and childcare.
The program provides a safe space where women and children can explore difficult feelings about experiences with family violence. Programming includes learning coping skills, self-esteem and safety.
For those looking for a rewarding opportunity to work with the public in a donation-driven retail setting, this is a great fit.
Volunteers will be responsible for greeting donors and accepting donations, transfer of donations to the assigned sorting area, and general customer service, pricing, and tidying in the Encore Market. Volunteers will also assist with taking payments and bagging items for Encore Market purchases at the front desk.
Shifts are available from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday to Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm. We are also able to create a schedule to meet individual needs.
